President

Mark Hatch founded Hatch Strategies, LLC in November 2007 and serves as President of this public/media relations consulting firm. Hatch Strategies provides political, media, governmental affairs, crisis management and public relations strategic planning services to a variety of clients in the City of Columbus and the State of Ohio. Hatch Strategies is uniquely qualified to represent a diverse client base due to Mark’s 25 year work history of community, labor, political, business, non-profit and media planning and relations experience.

From 2001 until 2007, Mark Hatch served as the Special Assistant to the Executive Director for the Ohio Association of Public School Employees (OAPSE/AFSCME/AFL-CIO). In conjunction with these responsibilities, Mark also maintained responsibilities as Director of Public Policy and Public Affairs where he was a founding member of the Ohio AFL-CIO Health Care Trust, a voluntary employee beneficiary association (VEBA).

Prior to joining OAPSE in July of 2001, Mark Hatch was elected by the citizens of the City of Columbus to two terms as a member of the Columbus Board of Education, serving twice as board president.

Mark’s employment history includes co-founding the Columbus based Community Crime Patrol, Inc., where he served as President and Executive Director of this not-for-profit crime prevention agency from 1990 until 2001.

Mark Hatch served as the Executive Assistant for Human Resources to former Ohio Governor Richard F. Celeste, as the Administrative Assistant to the Governor’s Chief of Staff, and as a Legislative Aide for the Ohio House of Representatives.

Mark received his B.A. in Political Science from The Ohio State University in 1987.

Mark, Suzanne, and their children, Jane, Truman, and Samuel, live in Columbus, Ohio. Suzanne teaches for the Columbus City Schools and all three Hatch children either graduated from or are enrolled in the city district.
